Dry cooler cooling is based on the principle of sensible heat rejection. These components exchange the accumulated heat entering the dry cooler with the air circulating inside. Dry coolers are a simple and rugged design consisting of a heat exchanger (usually a finned tube or microchannel coil and a fan that pushes air through the heat exchanger to cool the water or glycol solution). These coolers use air from outside the cooler to maintain the heat exchange. A suitable temperature difference between the coolant and the air inside the cooler must be maintained to ensure efficient cooling.
